Matteo Bocelli Dallas Concert reviews
Great!
Madison Square Garden was excellent, the security were very attentive. The volume was perfect, the crowd was excellent, and the concert was just under two hours. I had earplugs ready, but I was very glad it wasn't overwhelmingly loud. When I was a kid, I would see these concerts and be deaf walking out, my ears ringing for days.
The crowd was majority people in their 50s, 60s, and maybe even their 70s. Pete Townsend, at 78 years old, did an amazing job, as did Roger Daltrey. I had orchestra seats and could see them clearly; they were amazingly talented. They played great and I just loved it. It was way better than I expected, and I've seen Matteo Bocelli a few times.
They started out with Tommy, then Quadrophenia, followed by Who's Next and then Who Are You. They could have played so much more, but it was still great. They played all the important songs, though they didn't play "Magic Bus" or "Slip Kid," two great songs. There was no encore, which was surprising.
It's been a long time since I've seen a concert, and I guess they don't do them anymore with all the COVID-19 and terrorist threats. They want everyone to be home and in their cars and out of the parking garages before 11:30 PM. I like this concert so much that I'm gonna book Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney too!
